To the Editor:

We just wanted to thank our neighbors who live on Whipple Way and Sanford Place for helping celebrate our 3-year-old son’s birthday. Our son loves lawn mowers, so we asked our neighbors to place their lawn mowers at the end of their driveways so we could take a walk and he could admire them.

The parade ended up being more than we could’ve imagined. Neighbors decorated their mowers with balloons, signs, and presents. Neighbors stood outside to wave to us and talk to each other.

It is in times like these that we are reminded why we love this community and why we chose to live here. Altamont is truly a special place and stands true to the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child.” We feel fortunate and blessed to be a part of a community that genuinely cares about their neighbors.
