Help VCSF continue to fund amazing things

To the Editor:
Kickoff Summer with the VCSF!

The Voorheesville Community & School Foundation is hosting the hottest event in town on Friday, June 16, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Indian Ladder Farms Cidery & Brewery.

VCSF’s Summer Kickoff fundraiser will feature live music with Capital Region favorite Hot Cousin, wood-fired pizzas and other light fare, raffles and games, and a variety of adult beverage options (cider and beer, wine, boozy ice cream, and whiskey-tasting — attendees must be 21 or older).

Tickets are available now through June 9 at  Tickets will not be available at the door.

If you aren’t familiar with VCSF, you can see our impact at every turn in the Voorheesville community and schools. Through community and business support, we’ve provided funds and/or fundraising assistance for these local landmarks:

— Rail Trail: the pavilion, train play structure, train viewing platform, trail art, and 2.4 miles of the trail itself;

— Voorheesville Elementary School: the playground, Blackbird Paradise Garden, and entrance sign;

— Middle/High schools: entrance sign, picnic tables, and Adirondack chairs;

— Satellite Athletic fields: pavilion, soccer goals, and lacrosse safety fence;

— Stephen P. Wallace Town Park: baseball bleachers and disc golf course;

— The playground at the Community Preschool; and

— The Hilton Barn.

A video tour of these sites is available on our Facebook site, and a list of recent grants is available on our website. Check them out and see the difference your support makes!

Please help VCSF continue to fund amazing things. The grant requests received recently outnumber the money available to give. VCSF’s Summer Kickoff is our first big fundraising event since 2019 (our June 2020 event was canceled) and the heat is on to raise $20,000 or more.

Business sponsorship, raffle donations, and event ticket purchases will get us there, so please act today!

We are grateful to our community business partners who have sponsored the event to date (New Scotland Physical Therapy, Foley’s Garage, Brickhouse Pizza, Elemental Landscapes Inc., Family Danz Heating & Cooling, Voorheesville Rod & Gun Club, Atlas Copco, and BSNB).

A full list of sponsors and raffle donors will be publicized at the event, on social media, and on our website. Contact us at by June 9 with your sponsorship interest.

The Voorheesville Community & School Foundation looks forward to seeing our community in person on June 16 at the VCSF Summer Kickoff! Get your tickets by June 9 at
