Services for Beth and Sylvester Schiltz

ALTAMONT — Beth and Sylvester Schiltz, a loving couple, both died in March.

Their family will be holding services on Saturday, June 10, at the Altamont Reformed Church, at 129 Lincoln Ave., at 10 a.m. followed by inurnment in Fairview Cemetery.

  • EAST BERNE — Harold B. Grippin, a Korean War veteran and a long-time resident of East Berne, died at home on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023. He was 93.

    Born in Binghamton, New York on Feb. 18, 1930, he was the son of the late Ralph and Harriet (née Bogart) Grippin.

    Ronald Lee Sands, who as a youth growing up in Altamont had a passion for adventure and making model planes, graduated from the Air Force Academy and went on to help design the F-4 Phantom, the primary fighter jet used in the Vietnam War.

    GREENVILLE — Lois M. Klob, her family wrote in a tribute, “left this world on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023 at 2:02 p.m. at home surrounded by her family.” She was 90.

    She was born at home in Westerlo on Oct. 14, 1932 to the late Ward and Anna (née Vincent) Waldron.
