Thanks for helping make our parade safe and successful

To the Editor:

Saturday’s Community Car Parade in Altamont was an amazing, emotional event. It felt like coming home from a war.

Only Altamont could have pulled this off. Everyone was safe and respectful and followed the guidelines to prevent coronavirus. We hope to build on this for next year.

I want to thank Nicole McCutcheon for handling the marketing (ad designs, posters, and social media), Camelot for 100 posters about the parade, and Joe Marcelletti from Sports Journal for donating nine trophies.

I’d also like to thank the police, fire, emergency medical services, not-for-profits, local businesses, and residents for making it a very safe, successful, and special parade.
