Awards and achievements

These local students have recently distinguished themselves:

 

— Haley Golderman of Slingerlands, helped the University of Vermont's 6th annual student-led fundraising event RALLYTHON raise a record-breaking $140,813.29 for the UVM Children's Hospital;

— Nanaka Suzuki of Slingerlands, majoring in art and government at Hamilton College is exhibiting work in Senior Art Show, and was named the recipient of The William Gillespie Prize in Art;

— Omar Beesley of Delmar, majoring in mathematics at Hamilton College was named the recipient of The Southworth Prize in Physics;

— Adam Kronick of Schenectady, received an award at 2020 Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania Honors Convocation;

— Catherine Harvey of Delmar, majoring in education and mathematics at Assumption College in Massachusetts recognized for Scholarship and Excellence with academic honors;

— Jasmine Carr of Schenectady, majoring in criminal investigation at State University of New York in Canton was inducted in Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society;

— Steven Fedorchak of Guilderland, majoring in accounting at Western New England University in Massachusetts was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society;

— Ethan McDonald or Guilderland, at State University of New York in Oneonta was the top finisher at both the SUNYAC and Atlantic Region championships; 

— Madeline Carswell of Delmar, at State University of New York in Oneonta was selected to exhibit artwork in SUNY Oneonta's 2020 Student Juried Art Exhibition; and

— Cailyn Toomey of Berne, majoring in early childhood education at State University of New York in Oneonta was inducted into SUNY Oneonta National Residence Hall Honorary.
