Create a mask for ‘Hieronymus’
To the Editor:
We are seeking imaginative and artistic people who would like to create masks for a not-for-profit, musical production titled “Hieronymus” about medieval fantasy painter Hieronymus Bosch and his too-large imagination.
The “Hieronymus” musical will be performed at Proctors Theater on Aug. 18 and filmed for public television. Art classes at six area schools (Guilderland, Voorheesville, Bethlehem, Schenectady, Shenendehowa, and Ichabod Crane) have been making creature masks for the production, but we need a few more, especially full-body costumes, larger pieces, and parts (such as wings). Mask creators may have their work back after the show.
There is a contest for the best masks. I have created two paintings valued at $10,000 each to be given as prizes. Visit CreatureMasks.com for additional information, contacts, and to view the paintings.
Many local organizations and individuals are contributing to the show, including Schenectady Light Opera, Proctors Theater, WMHT, medieval reenactors, ballet dancers, puppeteers, actors, artists, and volunteers. Thank you!
