ACT announces community grant recipients

To the Editor:

The board of directors of Altamont Community Tradition is pleased to announce the recipients of our annual Community Grant program. The program is intended to expand our giving to a wider range of organizations who preserve our history and strengthen the village through engaging activities.

Funded by event revenues and other generous gifts, these small grants (up to $500) are donated annually to projects of local not-for-profit organizations that align with ACT’s mission of historic preservation and/or strengthening the village community.

These are the 2025 Community Grant recipients:

— Altamont Elementary School PTA for the purchase of reusable bingo cards for student/family bingo nights;

— Historic Altamont Inc. for the purchase of promotional materials for the grand opening of the Long Path kiosk in the village; and

— St. John’s Lutheran Church, funds towards the purchase of a custom door latch/panic bar for the church Sanctuary doors.
