Elizabeth has seen the district through many different lenses

To the Editor:
On Mother’s Day, I had the pleasure of canvassing some neighborhoods with Elizabeth Floyd Mair, candidate for the Guilderland School Board.

The reason for my presence was to introduce Elizabeth to the residents, take down questions that came up during conversations, and be two extra hands to juggle campaign flyers and notebooks. I was hardly needed as it soon became clear that Elizabeth knows a good share of residents already.

Beginning with her time at Guilderland as a student, running through the present as the parent of a Guilderland High School student and member of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee, Elizabeth has seen the district through many different lenses.

Her journalism background has also afforded her the opportunity to meet and speak with many residents and has allowed her to develop the ability to ask the right questions and then assess a situation from different perspectives.

Sometimes it’s difficult to get excited about the choices we have when election times are near. By now, you know who I’ll be voting for on May 21. Her life experience and work résumé make her the perfect fit for the school board.

Please join me in supporting Elizabeth Floyd Mair as she takes on this new volunteer responsibility.
