VTA wholeheartedly endorses Fiero and Bergeron for school board
To the Editor:
I am writing on behalf of the Voorheesville Teachers’ Association to express our enthusiastic endorsement for Matt Bergeron and Kathy Fiero as candidates for the Voorheesville School Board [“Three candidates vie for two seats on Voorheesville School Board,” The Altamont Enterprise, May 8, 2024]. Having thoroughly discussed both Matt and Kathy’s visions for our educational community, I am confident in their ability to bring positive change and thoughtful decision-making to the board.
Matt brings a refreshing perspective to the table, one that is rooted in open communication and inclusivity. He firmly believes in gathering information from all parties involved before making decisions, ensuring that every voice is heard and considered.
In an era where collaboration and understanding are paramount, he embodies the principles of transparency and engagement that our school district desperately needs. Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in education law to the table.
In an era where legal frameworks and regulations profoundly impact educational policies and practices, having someone with his depth of understanding in this area is invaluable. He possesses a keen understanding of the legal nuances that govern our educational institutions and is adept at navigating the complexities of compliance and governance.
Kathy is dedicated to continuing to work to build relationships. Beyond her commitment to open communication, Kathy possesses a wealth of experience and expertise that make her exceptionally qualified for the role.
Her background in education equips her with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of educational governance and advocate effectively for the best interests of our students, teachers, and families.
Kathy has demonstrated her dedication to our community time and time again. She has been actively involved in the Voorheesville Community and School Foundation, Village of Voorheesville Planning Board, was a teacher for the Voorheesville Central School District for 32 years and was president of the Voorheesville Teachers’ Association for 21 years, showing unwavering commitment to making our schools not just places of learning, but hubs of inclusivity, and excellence.
In conclusion, the Voorheesville Teachers’ Association wholeheartedly endorses Matt Bergeron and Kathy Fiero for the school board. With their passion for open communication, proven track record of leadership, and deep-rooted dedication to our community, I am confident that they will serve with integrity, compassion, and effectiveness.
