Jane Paul

Jane Paul, a top Berne-Knox scholar, worked for General Electric and the State of New York, and was active in her church.

She died peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2015, after a brief illness, at the Doak Walker House at Casey’s Pond, Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She was 90.

Ms. Paul was born on July 5, 1924, along with her identical twin sister, Ina Paul Saddlemire, in Albany.

The twins graduated from Berne-Knox High School as salutatorian and valedictorian in 1942.

Ms. Paul attended Syracuse University, earned a bachelor of arts degree from Bob Jones University, and attended Mildred Elley Business School.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Schenectady where she was very involved in church activities including working for the church in Costa Rica for several years.

Ms. Paul also was employed by General Electric in Schenectady and the State of New York in Albany.

She principally resided at 1506 Berne-Knox Road for many years, but, recently lived in Steamboat Springs near her nephew, Thomas Paul Saddlemire.

She is survived by her brother, Donald Paul.

A graveside service will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Berne on Friday, May 22, 2015, at 2 p.m. for family and friends. Arrangements are by the Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont and online condolences may be made at www.fredendallfuneralhome.com.
