I will serve all Berne residents equally and respectfully

To the Editor:

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Kevin Crosier and the Berne Democratic Committee for their endorsement for town council in this November’s election.

I'm a lifelong Democrat and have received the Working Families Party endorsement as well.

We have a strong team of candidates: Peggy Christman, Jennifer Merrill-Fuller, and Patrick Martin for council; Jean Guarino for town clerk; and Barbara Kennedy for highway super.

As the Democratic committee’s endorsed candidate, I will serve all of the residents of the town equally and respectfully. Our town employees, committee volunteers, and appointees, have gotten the short end of the stick in recent years. I will commit to making Berne a safe and respectful, place to work again.

As a local business owner and farmer, I understand what people have to do to make a living here on the Hill. Our hard-working residents are sought after by Albany small businesses, because of their work ethic and good nature.

Town residents will be welcomed back to town hall, to participate in meetings and be heard. I'm no stranger to town hall. I've served in a number of roles in civil service, and continue to do so in adjacent Rensselaerville. I have served on the Berne Planning Board, participated in the comprehensive plan review, as well as Switzkill Farm events.

I look forward to serving all of the residents, regardless of background, as does the Democratic team!
