To the Editor:

In these dark and trying times, a sliver of light seems to always lurk: It’s disguised and difficult to locate sometimes, but it’s there.

It was our good fortune to have met Carrie LaFontaine — we met her in St. Augustine and later up here in Berne. Deeply saddened by her passing, we thought it fitting to salute her memory and express our condolence to her family and to Pat.

A special spirit who brought joy and warmth into our lives – you are missed.
