TO HAVE ARMY CAMP

It is practically certain that the triangle site in the town of South Bethlehem has been selected as a great permanent federal mobilization camp.

From present indications it is likely that the federal authorities will officially select the site within a few days, which means that 500 engineers will be sent to Albany at once to prepare the camp.

Preparations will be made for 120,000 men, these men constituting four divisions. Later other divisions will be sent to the camp and within a short time it is expected that there will be 250,000 men camped within ten miles of Albany. Almost on the outskirts of the city there will be a city of soldiers over twice the population of Albany.

VILLAGE NOTES.

— The annual school meeting of district No. 7, town of Guilderland was held at the High school building Tuesday evening. Only eleven taxpayers of the district were present. The annual budget for the expenses of the school, amounting to $6,784.41, was adopted. Eugene Sand was re-elected a member of the board for three years. As there was no further business the meeting was adjourned.

— Don’t forget the baseball game at the fair grounds Saturday afternoon. Teams representing the high schools of Altamont and Middleburgh will cross bats. A good game may be expected.

— Leroy Smith, proprietor of the Middleburgh and Albany auto bus line, states that he may be compelled to discontinue trips for a time on account of the closing of a bridge at Schoharie. Definite notice will be given next week.
