Success of the Pucker Street Fair depends on the support from our community

To the Editor:

The Town of Knox Pucker Street Fair Committee is seeking vendors, volunteers, and contributions for this year’s fair! The fair will be on June 29 from 6 to 11 p.m., on June 30 from 11 a.m. to 11p.m., and July 1 from noon to 5 p.m. and will include a classic car show, rides, games, food, music, fireworks, skydivers, a chicken barbecue and much more!

Vendors: The Pucker Street Fair is driven by the local community and this year we would like to continue that tradition by involving local organizations and vendors. Vendors are encouraged to showcase their local products and services to a large audience.

The price for all three days is $75; any two days, $60; and any one day, $40. Vendors must provide their own tent or shelter, not to exceed 12 feet by 12 feet. Large overhead lights will be present during the evening hours.

Any vendor interested should send a check and all of the following information: Contact name, business name/type, phone number, and email. If you are attending for only one or two days, please also indicate which days.

Checks should be made out to: “Town of Knox” and mailed to: Town of Knox, care of Pucker Street Fair, Post Office Box 205, Knox, NY 12107. Payment is non-refundable. The deadline for payment and information is Tuesday, May 22.  Any questions, contact Diane Champion at 518-872-1676 or .

Donations: The committee is also seeking any donations to help make this year’s fair be one of the best yet. Throughout the three-day event, a Contribution Booklet will be handed out to fairgoers, listing advertisements from businesses as well as a special section for individuals who donated.

Any amount, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. Please contact Rose Pritchard at 518-441-4726 or to be emailed a contribution booklet form. Advertisements are due Tuesday, May 22.

Volunteers: To ensure the success of this year’s fair, volunteers are also being sought. There will be opportunities to support your community by assisting with parking, operating games, and more. This is a great opportunity for students looking for volunteer hours.

If interested, contact Dennis Barber at 518-860-7861 or and provide your name, phone number, and dates and times you are available to help.

Food vendors: Any individual or business interested in selling food during the fair can also contact Dennis Barber at 518-860-7861 or by Tuesday, May 22. Please state your name, food type, and dates and times interested in selling, when you contact. This is a great opportunity for youth organizations looking to fundraise money for their activities!

Again, the success of the Pucker Street Fair depends on the support from our community, so we hope you will spread the word about how someone can be involved. A more detailed schedule of events will be coming in the next several months and will be found on the town website (www.knoxny.org) and town Facebook page. Thank you!
