Our future depends on you! Thompsons Lake Rural Cemetery holds annual meeting

To the Editor:

On  Thursday, May 4, the Thompsons Lake Rural Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. at the Thompsons Lake Reformed Church in East Berne. In addition to the annual budget review, we will recap the 2016 season.

We are an all-volunteer organization and need new members. If you are a deed holder and care that the cemetery is well-managed and maintained into the future, please join us to learn who we are, what we do, and how you can help. Our future depends on you!

If you are unable to attend, please consider sending a donation to help with the cost of summer mowing, repair of headstones, and maintaining of roadway. Checks should be made out to Thompsons Lake Rural Cemetery and mailed to Sue Jordan, 276 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.

If you are not a deed holder but would like to be, cemetery plots may be purchased as follows: whole plot of eight graves for $3,500, half plot of four graves for $2000; quarter plot of two graves for $1,260.

If you have questions, call Don VanHoesen at (518) 326-1549, Shirley Salisbury at (518) 673-5711, Lora Ricketts at (518) 872-1691, Cathy Newell at (518) 369-6059, or me at (518) 487-4698.
