ACT announces community grant recipients

To the Editor:

The board of directors of Altamont Community Tradition is pleased to announce the recipients of our annual Community Grant program. The program is intended to expand our giving to a wider range of organizations that preserve our history and strengthen the village through engaging activities.

The grant program is funded through ACT events such as WinterFest, personal donations, and business sponsorships.

These are the 2023 Community Grant recipients:

— Altamont Elementary School PTA for the purchase of a commercial popcorn machine for use at school events and fundraisers; and

— Altamont Fair Historical Committee for the purchase of plaques to identify historic buildings on the  fairgrounds.

Funded by event revenues and other generous gifts, these small grants (up to $500) are donated annually to projects of local not-for-profit organizations that align with ACT’s mission of historic preservation and/or strengthening the village community through engaging activities.
