Lunches bring fun and laughter and raised over $1,400

To the Editor:

There’s a lot to be said about small numbers. With only five of us (Alice, Karen, Diane, Art, and Chris) running the Westerlo Reformed Senior Lunch Program, we have provided lunches that rival the best for sure.

Sometimes due to weather, or other obligations, we have done with two or three of us working the kitchen. Regardless, the fun and laughter were present. I want to thank all who pitch in and help. Extra hands and hugs have helped and shored us up.

We have had 11 lunches from September to April. Most of the food provided and cooked was donated by each cook for the luncheon. So, that means most of the donations given by each of you was collected and set aside for the Hilltown Community Resource Center for senior crisis care in the upcoming months.

So the grand total this year after some minimal expense monies is $1,487.75.

Thank you for your contributions, participation, and fellowship this past year. We have finished for now. Our next lunch will start on Sept. 27. God Bless have a wonderful summer, see you in the fall.
