Judge Ackerman is devoted to young people
To the Editor:
For the past 10 years, I have been a volunteer at the Choices Program run by the Albany County Sheriff’s Stop DWI division and, because of my involvement with this program that helps our younger generation understand the dangers of our society today, I am always looking for other programs that may do the same.
About a year ago, I found the U-Can (United Against Crime-Commnity Action Network) program started by Honorable Andra Ackerman in Cohoes. I have since attended her court and program several times.
It’s another great program that has been successful in changing the lives of many youth. In researching the program and Judge Ackerman, I was led to a video on YouTube that explains why Judge Ackerman felt compelled to start this worthy program. It’s a video well worth watching for anyone.
I want to thank Judge Ackerman for her devotion to the young people in Albany County and wish her well in her run for Albany County Court Judge.
