To the Editor:

I'd like to congratulate The Enterprise for its well-deserved awards from the New York Press Association, and thank it for its many years of being such a great source of news, information, and community support.

I moved to Altamont over 40 years ago and have always regarded the paper’s journalistic standards highly. Where else could we get such vital and detailed news and information about our communities? There is no other source.

I commend The Enterprise for maintaining its integrity and not following the path of so many small newspapers that merely become platforms for advertising local business supplemented with happy talk and trivia quizzes.

This is a real newspaper that reports important things in our towns, and that is truly a service to the community. 

So God bless and keep up the good work; you are a treasure to the region.
