To the Editor:
It’s great news that John Williams is back on his feet. I don't have the honor of his acquaintance, though I have friends who do.

But I have had the pleasure of reading his reports about the OMOTM for so many years that I feel almost as if I actually knew him.

However, the reason I’m writing is to applaud Mr. Douglas Marshall for stepping up to take over the column when Mr. Williams was suddenly out of commission.

He has done a stellar job, and rates a more descriptive title than Pinch Hitter. Well done!
