Paulette A. Payne

ALTAMONT — Paulette A. Payne, a mother and a grandmother, died peacefully in her Altamont home on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late Giles Sr. and Hazel Swint and the beloved wife of Michael Payne with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her siblings, James (Kim) Swint, Margaret (John) Cintula, Giles (Karen) Swint Jr., Maureen Ellis, and Charles (Jane) Swint and by her sister-in-law, Mary Swint.

She is also survived by her stepson, Christopher Payne, and by her granddaughter, Dacey Payne, and by a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Her siblings, Michael Swint and Cheryl Schmidt, died before her.  

Family and friends are invited and may visit with her family in the Fredendall Funeral Home at 199 Main Street in Altamont on Tuesday, April 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. with a prayer service immediately following in the funeral home.
