U.S. should do better

To the Editor:
No one one in the United States should have to file for bankruptcy because of medical expenses.

There should be no fault attached to the Bashwinger family because one of them had the misfortune of being ill [“Berne highway super files for bankruptcy, The Altamont Enterprise, March 31, 2021].

This country can and should do better.
