Come on out of cocoon mode

To the Editor:

We’re all encouraged by the progress being made in “returning to normal.” One of those steps is the return of the Altamont Green and Clean, an annual community event sponsored by the Altamont Community Tradition.

It was canceled last year but it’s back as one of the signs that spring is here. Each year we get together to do a bit of weeding, raking, and mulching in our public spaces. This will be a good time to come on out of cocoon mode, grab your mask, meet your neighbors, and help spruce up the village parks.

This year’s event is on Saturday, April 24, starting at 9 a.m. Volunteers are encouraged to meet up with ACT members at Orsini Park in the center of the village. We provide garden waste bags and mulch; you are asked to bring your garden gloves and favorite gardening tools.

Please come on out and have some fun in the sunshine for a couple of hours while helping to beautify our wonderful little gem of a village.
