NEW SALEM, SOUTH END.

Once again the angel of death has entered our midst, taking from among us the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Smith, Jr., of Albany, Ethel Marie, age 16 months. While visiting at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Smith on Sunday, April 3rd and while apparently in the best of health, the child was taken with convulsions. She was rushed at once to the office of Dr. T. M. Holmes at Delmar. Everything was done but with no avail and the child died in a short time. The funeral was held Tuesday. The Rev. Donald Boyce officiated, speaking comforting words to the bereaved family. The many beautiful flowers about her were but symbols of her purity. The burial was made in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
