NEW SCOTLAND —  A 35-year-old man was murdered inside his Miller Road home in the town of New Scotland, Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple stated in a late morning social-media post on Thursday.

The incident occurred “early [Wednesday] morning, April 13,” Apple tweeted.

“We believe this is an isolated incident and the community is safe,” Apple tweeted on Wednesday evening.

A call to the sheriff’s Clarksville substation was not immediately returned.

Miller Road is central to a 16-lot subdivision off of New Scotland South Road near Town Hall. The project languished in development limbo for years over water and sewer concerns. It finally received planning board approval in 2015

Homes are still under construction at the Miller Road site.

Police on Wednesday were asking nearby residents for doorbell camera footage of a pickup truck leaving the area.
