RVFC puts the fun in fundraiser

To the Editor:

Upon discovering 72 mugs in the attic of the firehouse left over from the 1989 celebration of being incorporated 50 years, the Rensselaerville Volunteer Fire Company came up with an idea of having a Mug Night Fundraiser.

This idea became a reality on Friday night, March 31, thanks to some dedicated battalion members including Emily Brew, Emily Warburton, Amy Kropp, and Rosie Kuhar. A special thanks to Kuhar Family Farm Market and Café for hosting the event.

Micah and Rochelle Kuhar with the assistance of Ryan Walker and Battalion members keep the crowd of over a hundred enjoying food and their favorite beverage in vintage mugs during the five-hour event.

Always a crowd pleaser, the band Thirty Rack played in the dining room to the enjoyment of all. Special thanks to Dan Ryan, Eric Fernandez, Bruce Barker, Evan Place, and Carl Steward for volunteering to share their love of music with us.

It was also a chance to have the community put names and faces to their local fire members as the members proudly wore blue or red fire insignia shirts during the event. Without the support of the local community and neighbors from the Hilltowns, this wouldn’t have been the huge success it was. Thank you for supporting our first but not last Mug Night.
