Earth Day: A guaranteed good time at Switzkill Farm

To the Editor:

Mark your calendar. The date is April 27, the day of the great Earth Day Celebration at the town of Berne’s Switzkill Farm Park. It is guaranteed to be a good time for the entire family.

There will be crafts for kids, a worm-composting demonstration, recycling projects, hiking, kite-flying, and a tree give-away by the Switzkill Valley Volunteers and new geocaches.

Learn about honeybees and native bees. Find out about our proposed pollinator garden.

A bird walk will begin at 11 a.m., a bee class at noon. and a tree-identification and nature walk at 1 p.m. All this comes with live music by Eric Fernandez and Friends.

And it’s all free. Food and drinks will be available too. Keep the date open: April 27 from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. See you there.
