Farmers’ markets to sell online

Beginnings in 2018: Patrons visit the Barb’s Farm booth for fresh produce at the 2018 Guilderland Farmers’ Market behind Star Plaza.

The Washington Park and Guilderland farmers’ markets are going to start up an online market.

“We will add products from vendors on our website,” says organizer Scott Abraham in an announcement. “People can pick out what they want and pay online. We will take their orders, put the items in a box or bag, then on Sunday, noontime in Star Plaza, in Guilderland, at the corner of Route 155 and Western Avenue, they can pick it up in the parking lot. We would like for people to stay in their cars and we will come to you.”

Artists, crafters, farmers, distilleries, and hot-food vendors are all invited to participate. Anyone who is interested should call Abraham, at 949-973-8785, to learn more and find out how to sign up.

Some vendors will have to get a certain amount of orders for it to be financially viable for their time and expenses. These metrics will be alongside their product page. If metrics are not met, customers will be refunded.

The first day of pickup will be on Sunday, April 26.

The online market will be live and taking orders starting on Monday, April 13 at GuilderlandMarket.com.
