Town Buys Voting Machines
The town board met at the office of the town clerk, Ray P. Arthur, in this village on Saturday afternoon when final action was taken on the matter of substituting voting machines for clerks at the several election districts throughout the town of Bethlehem at the regular fall election.
This matter had been under consideration for some time, and all available data was gathered that would furnish any information to the members of the board.
It has been clearly shown to the satisfaction of the board that the purchase of these machines would materially reduce the cost of general elections in this town by several hundreds of dollars and that within a very few years they will have more than reimbursed the town by the savings made in the curtailment of the expense.
COLONY CLUB NOTES
Last week under the leadership of Mrs. Frank Chesebrough and Mrs. Wilson Crounse, we visited Japan — the land of high mountains and deep valleys, of craggy volcanic peaks and luxuriant vegetation.
We were told how the Japanese excel in art handicrafts, that spinning and weaving have for centuries been important native industries. We learned many of their manners and customs and a bit of their history.
Mrs. Ellsworoth Chesebro played a piano solo and Mrs. Gaige sang a Japanese solo, in costume.
DELANSON
A brass band has been organized in this village with a membership of thirty-four. Monday evening was the first meeting for rehearsal.

Wednesday, April 8th, is the date of another snappy dance, held at Red Men’s hall, New Salem. A good floor and fine music tend to make these dances enjoyable affairs. Come and see for yourselves. Admission 75 cents per couple; extra lady 25 cents.
