To the Editor:

I think most would agree that the best view of the Helderbergs would include a carpet of farms, fields, and woods rising to the escarpment.

Solar farms may not be the loveliest addition to the scene, but they are preferable to the lavish single-family homes sprouting on former farms throughout Guilderland and New Scotland.

If a field can’t be kept in agricultural use, better it be repurposed to help the environment rather than degrade it.

In addition to blotting the viewshed, McMansions only add unwanted traffic and pollution to the landscape.
