Audrey Ann ‘Penny’ Cline

Audrey Ann “Penny” Cline, a physical therapist who also helped her husband run a funeral home and florist, died on Thursday, March 22, 2018, following a long illness with her loving husband by her side. She was 76.

She was a resident of Acacia Village in The Masonic Care Community in Utica and former resident of Northville, New York.

She was born in Hudson, New York on April 24, 1941, the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Audrey H. Smith Burnett.

She attended schools in Berne, was a graduate of Mildred Elley Business School in Albany in 1960, and graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut in 1965 with a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy.

From 1965 to 1970, she was employed as a senior physical therapist with Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital in Schenectady. She was employed as a physical therapist with Allied Services in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and then employed as an instructor in the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Maria College in Albany. From 1974 until her retirement, she was employed by the Fulton County Nursing Service as the staff physical therapist.

She married Dennis H. Cline on April 17, 1971 and helped him run the Claude A. Lipe Funeral Home, the Northville Funeral Service, and the North Country Florist in Northville.

She attended the First United Methodist Church of Northville and was active in the United Methodist Women and other organizations within the church.

Audrey Ann “Penny” Cline is survived by her husband, Dennis H. Cline of Utica; by their four daughters, Mrs. Wendy J. Hotaling of Northville, Mrs. Laurel A. St. Onge of Northville, Mrs. Erika L. Troxell of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Amy E. Cline of Kamloops, British Columbia; by her two brothers, Paul T. Burnett of Donna, Texas and Clark W. Burnett of Citrus Springs, Florida; and by her 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at a time to be announced in the spring in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Northville. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.northvillefuneralservice.com.
