Ira Willsey of the L. I. Wright and company was in Albany Wednesday, to see about the appointment of their auto store as a headlight testing station. WEST TOWNSHIP

Numerous complaints are being made regarding the condition of the road leading into Altamont. A petition is being circulated through the town calling attention to the bad condition of this village portion of the highway, and asking that steps be taken to put the road in good condition. There is no reason why the village can not have just as good a road as the town. It is up to the village of Altamont to keep their roads in good repair if they wish the patronage of farmers who pass this way with heavy loads many times in a year. The residents of this town are anxiously awaiting to see what action is taken when this petition is presented to the city fathers.

SCHOHARIE
(Omitted last week)

The earthquake that visited this part of the country recently, was felt by nearly everyone here. Some people were made very sick from the shock. It awakened the minds of some people. One man thought it time to repent, and threw up his hands to God. He was asked afterward to come to a certain restaurant for a clam stew, but he refused. He only said, “It is time to repent.”
