To the Editor:  

It was disheartening to read of the manner that the tenants of the Switzkill Farm were “ordered to vacate” their home.

The town supervisor’s statement that “our only goal is to make these buildings safe” is suspect and misleading. The code violations could clearly have been handled in a different fashion so as not to victimize the tenants.

One only has to note the players involved to see the motivation. It’s disappointing to see that one political party in our town has chosen to embrace mean-spirited tactics that seem to becoming the new normal.
