To the Editor:

The Guilderland Historical Society’s March 19 meeting will feature Tom Allison’s presentation — Phillip Hooker: Albany Architect.

Hooker, a versatile designer and builder of churches, schools, public buildings, warehouses, speculation housing, and premier residences, practiced from 1787 to 1836. Some of his work, such as Albany’s Fort Orange Club, originally built as a private home, and the First Reformed Church on North Pearl Street survive today.

The public is invited to join us for this free program and to enjoy the social hour following. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Mynderse-Frederick House on Route 145 in Guilderland Center. For more information, call 518 861-8582.
