Blue ribbons for Hilltown photographers

The Friends of the Berne Library thanks all of the entrants for their participation in the fifth annual Berne Library Photo Contest. Agnes Zellin and Paul Tick, professional photographers, judged the entries and awarded ribbons. Agnes and Paul also awarded the Best Of Show award. Community members voted in the People’s Choice ballot.

These are the winners:

— 1st Place in the Jr. Critters category is Skylar Peay. Her photo is titled “The Dog”;

— 1st Place in the Jr. Travel category is Taylor Case. Her photo is titled “A View of Fall Trees”;

— 1st Place in the Jr. Memories category is Miranda Grzywaczewski. Her photo is titled “The Doorway to the Past”;

— 1st Place in the Jr. Reflections in Water category is Miranda Grzywaczewski. Her photo is titled “Fall’s Last Smile”;

— 1st Prize winner in the Adult Memories category is Pat Aronson. Her photo is titled “Pieces of My Mother’s Life”;

— The 1st Place winner in Reflections in Water category is Chuck Ver Straeten. His photo is titled “Reflection on Waves”;

— The 1st place winner in the Travel category is Eleanor Graves. Her photo, of a hot-air balloon with the moon in the background, is untitled;

— The 1st place winner in the Critters category is Eleanor Graves. Her photo of an owl is untitled;

— The Best of Show award in the Junior division was awarded to Miranda Grzywaczewski for her photo titled “The Doorway to the Past” in the Memories category;

— The Best of Show award in the Adult division was awarded to Chuck Ver Straeten for his photo “Reflection on Waves” in the Reflections in Water category;

— The People’s Choice award in the Junior division goes to Miranda Grzywaczewski for her photo “Fall’s Last Smile”; and

— The People’s Choice award in the Adult division goes to Eleanor Graves for her untitled photo of the hot-air balloon with the moon in the background.
