Shot of hope for better days

To the Editor:

Thank you to town of Westerlo supervisor, Bill Bichteman, and town board members, Amie Burnside and Rich Filkins, and Rich’s wife, Betty, for reaching out to the community and helping us get appointments with Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple’s COVID-19 vaccination team.

A lot of time and effort went into the process. I also want to thank Sheriff Apple and his team, and all the people behind the scenes who worked so hard. It’s a big relief to us, and I’m sure for many others, to have that first, and soon second, shot of hope for better days. Kudos to you all.

Dianne Sefcik

Westerlo

Editor’s note: Dianne Sefcik said she and her husband got Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines on Thursday, March 4, at the sheriff’s station in Clarksville. She described a well run, “very safe” drive-through system where, after getting her shot, she waited for 15 minutes in the parking lot with an ambulance nearby. She is scheduled for a second shot in three weeks. She also said shots were dispensed at Rensselaerville Town Hall on Sunday.

Thank you for saying that- sometimes people dont realize how much work goes on behind the scenes!
