We need to keep the Switzkill Farm and its board!

To the Editor:

I am writing this letter to ask the Berne local government to keep the Switzkill Farm available for and accessible to the general public.

I have been a Berne resident for more than 20 years. I moved here from Austria and absolutely love the Helderbergs.

Turning the Switzkill Farm into a playground for outdoor activities was a welcomed addition.

The Switzkill Farm Board is doing an outstanding job. Whether it is the Winter Fest, Boo Bash Spook Spectacular, or Earth Day, they all are a great way for the locals to come together, and for kids to have fun, exercise, explore, and learn.

Winter or summer, it does not matter.

The trails are beautiful for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or winter hiking.

In summer, I love to go running on the trails, hike, or just watch the birds. As a bonus, on a perfect day, you get a stunning view at the Catskills from the lodge.

We need to keep the Switzkill Farm and its board!
