Traffic is nothing to worry about

To the Editor:

I am in favor of the development (Costco and residential) proposed by Crossgates’ owner, Pyramid, on Western Avenue. I know first-hand because I live across the street from the new hotel, which was built recently on the property. From everything I see and hear, it’s been nothing but a great success.

While some may be concerned about traffic, I can tell you that it is not an issue to worry about. The traffic in and around Crossgates has been managed well with town and county leaders working with regional authorities, as well as Pyramid.

Studies have been done in recent years to address traffic as well as the high likelihood of future development. From the information I have read on the town of Guilderland website, the proposed development follows these well-maintained guidelines.

Also, Crossgates has been a good neighbor and I have no reason to think this would change. In addition to the people employed at Crossgates, the property also supports local small businesses through contract work as well as other small businesses who benefit from their proximity.

This doesn’t even take into account the new jobs, plus sales and property tax revenue, which will be a major benefit. This is a responsible project which will add to an already great economic engine in our community.
