GUILDERLAND — Beatrice C. (Coffey) Crounse of Rack Road in Schoharie, previously of Guilderland, died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, where she resided for the past couple of years. She was 100.

She was born on Jan. 20, 1923 in Albany, a daughter of Raymond Williams and Beatrice (née Kresser) Williams. She was a graduate of Albany Cathedral Academy High School and earned her associate’s degree in business from Mildred Elly College.

“Beatrice is remembered by many because of her welcoming presence at Helderberg Pet Center in Altamont,” her family wrote in a tribute. “As a young widow, Beatrice devoted her life to raising her three children. Her commitment and love of family was clearly evident to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

“Beatrice was a devout Catholic, serving as a eucharistic minister into her 90s. She was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Guilderland also having former memberships with St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Schoharie and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Delanson, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary.”

Beatrice C. (Coffey) Crounse is survived by her son, Joseph Coffey and his wife, Fran, of Temecula, California, and her daughter, Kathleen Stevens and her husband, Ron, of Schoharie; and by her former daughter-in-law, MaryAnne Coffey.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Julia Coffey, Jennifer (Emilio) Pizzoferrato, Daniel (Laura) Stevens, Tylor Stevens and Rebecca (Ian) Corcoran; by her great-grandchildren, Ava Lily Coffey, Emilio Pizzoferrato, Scarlet Coffey, Sage Coffey, Evelyn Corcoran, Clarence Corcoran, Helen Corcoran, Laurel Corcoran, Luke Stevens, Jack Stevens, and Owen Stevens; and by several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, Raymond Williams and Beatrice (née Kresser) Williams, died before her, as did her first husband, Joseph Coffey; her second husband, Harold Crounse; her son, Patrick Coffey; her brother, Raymond Williams Jr.; and her grandson, Justin Coffey.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 17, at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church at 20 Sumter Ave. with inurnment following at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont. A period of visitation will precede the Mass from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at church.
