The Enterprise has something for everyone — and a lot of heart too
To the Editor:
I marvel at the way the Enterprise consistently puts out such an informative and entertaining publication week after week. What I love most about your newspaper is the wide variety of articles and the emphasis on local. Both are important to me.
I find that each edition teaches me something or makes me laugh. (Your front-page article on senior scamming in the Feb. 8 issue was outstanding.)
My favorite column is “Back in Time” as lately you devote space to what was going on during the World War I era. Having had a grandfather serve in that war, I find the history to be fascinating. This column always harkens back to times when life was much simpler and more innocent — like when a pig breaking loose from a farmer’s pen was a newsworthy event.
As a senior citizen I always look forward to “Senior News.” I enjoy the very helpful and informative articles written by Ms. Miller of Community Caregivers.
“Library Notes” is of interest to me as my husband and I have attended some cooking demonstrations and an olive-oil tasting class at the Voorheesville Public Library, and we like to take advantage of these wonderful learning sessions.
I will admit, out of curiosity, I do glance at the “Blotters” to catch up on the local crime scene and am usually relieved when I see most of it involves shoplifting at the mall.
The last couple of pages, you always devote to local sports, and I am always delighted when I see action pictures of our Blackbirds. I will miss seeing those shots of senior star P.J. Parker next year.
The Altamont Enterprise is so well put together, it is difficult to comment on everything. It is always jam-packed full of meaty articles and truly has something for everyone. It has a lot of heart too — just like the residents of my Voorheesville and the surrounding Hilltowns.
