Roberta S. LeBuis

Roberta S. LeBuis of Barneveld in Oneida County died on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, at Sunset Nursing and Rehab in Boonville. She was 88.

She was born on Oct. 28, 1937, in Albany, the daughter of the late William and E. Margarette Bryant Stevens. She was a graduate of Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School.

“On Oct. 25, 1958,” her family wrote in a tribute, “she was united in marriage to Robert L. LeBuis, in Westerlo, a blessed union of more than 62 years. Mr. LeBuis passed away on July 31, 2021.

“Mrs. LeBuis was a stay-at-home mom, and was very supportive of her son’s and grandchildren’s activities.

“She was a volunteer at Holland Patent School District from 1975 to 2001. She was a member of South Trenton Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir, and was a Sunday school teacher.

“Roberta was a 50 year member of the Leon R. Roberts Post Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a supporter of the March of Dimes, and enjoyed bowling.”

Roberta S. LeBuis is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Bonnie), Joseph (Laurie), and Jerrold (Jessica); her grandchildren, Garret, Maxwell, Devin, Connor, and Morgan; and her great-grandsons, John and James.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carol Stevens; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Donna) LeBuis, Dennis (Debbie) LeBuis, Dennis Cummings, and Dennis Boomhower; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Her brother, William Stevens Jr., died before her, as did her in-laws, Janice (Pete) Bassler, Diane (Merritt) Chamberlain, Marlene Boomhower, and Charis Cummings.

“The family gratefully acknowledges all of her home health aides, and the dedicated caregivers at Sunset Nursing and Rehab, for their professionalism and compassion,” the tribute said.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Dimbleby Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro. Funeral services will be on Saturday, at 4 p.m., at the conclusion of calling hours. Interment will be in Olden Barneveld Cemetery, in the spring.
