THOMPSONS LAKE 

Telephone linemen have been at work on the New York end of the line for the past week, putting it in shape for service. This line has been out of commission ever since the ice storm of the 27 of November.

 

VILLAGE NOTES 

Alvin Van Wie, the new merchant on Maple avenue, has been confined to his home here with the mumps. 

 

DELANSON. 

William Scranton has a flock of one hundred pullets that he believes have made a record for egg laying that it will be hard to beat. They are Rhode Island Reds. The first egg was laid on Nov. 29, 1921. He sold during the month of december 59-½ dozen eggs and during January 132-½ dozens. The eggs used in the family are not counted in the above. Can you match his record? 

 

DUANE. 

Charles Mitchell, brother of Mrs. G. McBradt, was struck by a locomotive at Sidney on Monday evening and instantly killed. He was employed with a gang of bridge repair men, by the D. & H. Co. Mr. Mitchel was born at West Township in Albany county, but had made his home with his sister near Duanesburg for many years. 

 

VOORHEESVILLE.
Town collector Leonard Jones received $7,500 in taxes on Tuesday of last week at Kalohn hotel. Between six and seven thousand dollars is yet to come in. 

 

GALLUPVILLE. 

The Ladies’ Aid society of the Reformed church have issued invitations for a “fabric shower” with entertainment and supper, to be held at the church hall on the evening of February 17th. Muslin, linen, lace, gingham, and calico, will be accepted with thanks. 

 

VILLAGE NOTES. 

— On Friday  morning of last week Mrs. Ida Van Valkinburgh started across the street to the home of a neighbor. She fell on the ice on the driveway between her home and the Haverly property, and dislocated and broke her right wrist. She is resting as comfortably as can be expected. 

 

LAKE MYOSITIS
Omar Rivenburgh shot a pure white owl one day last week. His son Ernest is having the bird mounted. 

 

SLINGERLANDS. 

— The sleighride planned by the Epworth League of the Slingerlands M. E. church for Thursday night of last week was postponed but a social in the lecture room was held in its place with lantern slides shown by the pastor, the Rev. J. H. E. Rickard. A social hour with games and refreshments was enjoyed. The ride will be given as soon the sleighing improves. 

— Jean and Buddy LeFevre, who have had very serious complications following an attack of measles, are sufficiently recovered to dispense with the services of a trained nurse and expect to return to school next week. Five new cases of measles were reported during the week.
