‘Elections have consequences’
To the Editor:
The economy, which was to have been built back better by the losers of the last election, was terrible to the majority of voters concerned enough to vote.
That majority of popular votes translated into an electoral defeat for those who promised to, and failed to, build back better. Trumped-up criminal charges seem only to have energized victims of Bidenomics and other voters.
“Elections have consequences” as a recent formerly influential president once said after an election win.

So now we have Elon Musk’s fingers in the US Treasury payment system, possibly hundreds of front line FBI agents around the country about to be fired, almost all federal workers being lied to about an illegal buyout program, and an ‘information freeze’ like we haven’t seen before. And those are only a few of the nightmares we are living through so far. Not to mention the lies - for example that DEI initiatives equate to less qualified hires. Those DEI initiatives are not quotas, but there are quotas for the number of people ICE officers are expected to arrest every week.
So yes, elections have consequences. And when gas goes up 30-70 cents a gallon after the Canadian tariffs go into effect tomorrow (if they do), I trust you and others that voted for this will appreciate that consequence. We literally are experiencing ‘1984’.
