HOTEL RAIDED WEDNESDAY
As a result of numerous complaints by residents in the village, the Hotel Baker at Middleburgh was raided Wednesday afternoon by a State Prohibition agent assisted by county officials, and the owner and proprietor, Judson Hyde, was held for federal court. The raid was made on a search warrant issued Wednesday morning by United States Commissioner William H. Golding of Cobleskill.

EAST GALLUPVILLE
The eclipse of the sun on the 24th was observed by nearly everybody, and was something that everyone will remember as long as they live. It was nearly total here.
FEURA BUSH
We note the death, last week, of our former neighbor, David H. Neahr of Richmondville, following an accident in which Mr. Neahr was struck by a snowplow on the D. and H. tracks near Richmondville. Mr. Neahr was seriously injured and lived only a half-hour after the accident. The funeral was held on Friday.
EAST COEYMANS HOLLOW
Sydney Peck and David Irwin have traded horses.
CLARKSVILLE
The villagers were awakened Wednesday morning at one o’clock by Darwin Swart and his assistants who were opening the road with the county tractor snow plow. Truly we are living in an age of progression.
VILLAGE NOTES
— Many residents of the side streets of Altamont want to know why the county snow plow stationed here cannot open their streets as well as other roads in the township. The point they make is that they pay as much toward the support of the snow removal work as do the people living on the main streets of the village. After the important highways of the town of Guilderland have been opened, such roads as the side streets of the village should be plowed open, as well as the town roads. A point to remember is that Altamont is the largest tax-paying group in the town of Guilderland.
— While walking over Maple avenue last Saturday, Mrs. Sarah Dorsett, aged 77 years, slipped on the icy sidewalk and fell, breaking her right hip. The fracture being of a serious nature, it was deemed advisable to remove her to the Albany City hospital, where she was taken on Sunday. Everything is being done to alleviate her suffering, but on account of her advanced age slight hope is entertained for her recovery.
NORMANSKILL
Miss Susan M. Glasser, teacher of the eighth grade of School No. 23, on the Whitehall road, gave a sleigh-ride in honor of the class last Thursday afternoon. The ride started from the school and went through Hurstville, Slingerlands, Delmar and Elsmere.
