GUILDERLAND — Kenneth Jerome Preisser, who worked as Director of State Accounts and was proud of being a great-grandfather, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025. He was 86.

He was born in Albany on March 19, 1938 to the late Jerome Stephen Preisser and Agnes Regina Campbell.

Mr. Preisser graduated from Vincentian Institute in Albany and received his bachelor’s degree from Russell Sage College, Evening Division. He was Director of State Accounts for the New York State Comptroller’s Office and retired after 37 years of service.

He was a member of the New York National Guard for eight years.

“Ken was a lifelong Yankees fan and faithfully rooted for them regardless of how well they were playing,” his family wrote in a tribute. “He loved to sing songs from the ’40s and ’50s and would often spontaneously break into song. Ken was lucky with scratch-off cards and loved telling stories from his past.”
