Lower corporate taxes will spur new jobs

To the Editor:

I am enrolled as a Democrat; albeit, I have not lost my ability to think and reason. The recent vote on the tax bill did not receive the support of any Democratic senators.

I ask, “Is there not one senator who had the courage to vote in a positive way for tax reduction?”

This, I believe and I predict that, if the Democratic Party continues on its path of obstructionism, it will suffer major political defeats at the midterm elections this November.

As a result of the tax bill, those in the middle class will see an increase in their paychecks and a lower tax obligation come April 15.

Also, large rich major corporations will realize the benefits of lower taxes. This will spur expansion and new employment opportunities for many. Their approval and gratitude has already been shown by awarding many employees with $1,000 or $2,000 bonuses.

Previously, I referred to rich corporations as I do not know of any poor or failing corporations that create employment opportunity.

Nancy Pelosi commented regarding these bonuses, “These are only crumbs.” Nancy has been involved in Democratic politics all her adult life, never having what I would call a real job.

However, she is now worth millions. Thus, I can understand why she would consider $1,000 and $2,000 to be crumbs.

Democratic demagoguery regarding women, illegal immigration, gun control, economy, and law enforcement is becoming very ineffectual and boring.

Consequently, the Democrats are now attacking President Trump in many childish and immature ways. These attacks are, of course, of a very personal nature and have no substance or are not based on factual evidence.

If President Trump were running down Pennsylvania Avenue at 50 miles per hour, I believe his critics would accuse him of doing so because he does not know how to drive.

Editor’s note: What Nancy Pelosi actually said was, “In terms of the bonus that corporate America received versus the crumbs they are giving workers to kind of put the schmooze on is so pathetic."
