BERNE.

SCHOHARIE AND BARTON HILL.

Sergeant Lawyer Young of Camp Wadsworth, who was home on a furlough last month, likes the army life in spite of eight hours’ drill every day. He says Uncle Sam is getting his army in great shape to “lick the Kaiser.”

GUILDERLAND.

— The members of the Reading Circle are asked to please pass the books to their owners. Some members have not passed them until very late, so much confusion has resulted during the entire year.

— The improvements and repairs to the Town hall are nearing completion. The town of Guilderland is to be congratulated on having the improvements made at so little expense to the taxpayers, the town simply furnishing the materials and the people of the vicinity doing the work free of any charge, under the efficient supervision of J. H. York & Co.
