EAST BERNE — Alan P. Rudzinskas, a construction worker who raced motorcycles, died peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at home after a brief illness. His loving wife was by his side. He was 61.

“Alan was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed rebuilding, restoring, and racing Kawasaki motorcycles,” his family wrote in a tribute. “He was a generous and loving person and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.”

He was born in the Bronx on Aug. 20, 1955 and moved to Voorheesville as a young boy. He graduated from Voorheesville’s high school. and went to work for Eastern New York Laborers Training Center Inc., Local 190, in Glenmont.

He is survived by his wife, Dyan Rudzinskas, whom he married on Valentine’s Day 2001; his stepson, Denis Richard Lewis; his granddaughter, Shaina Lewis; his brothers, Robert Houck and his wife, Elaine, and  Victor Jr.; his sisters, Cathy Handy, Anna Mohan, and Haidee Smith and her husband, Richard; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were held on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont.
