Strangers comforted us in hour of need

To the Editor:

Thank you so very much to the two men who came to our aid after our vehicle accident at the intersection of Tygert, Koonz, and Hennssey roads early New Year’s Eve. We are most grateful. We don’t know who the men were.

We came to a three-way intersection. There was no stop sign. I was driving less than 20 miles per hour. The roads were very precarious and the car just slid across the road.

There was no shoulder, and there was a four- or five-foot drop-off. And our car just went over the drop-off and landed on its side.

We were honking the horn when the two men came and asked if we were OK. One held up his phone, with words saying “We will stay here until help comes.”

Being trapped in the vehicle, we found that was most comforting.
