To the Editor:

We would like to thank the town of Guilderland and especially Lynne Buchanan and her staff for making it possible for us and the residents of Guilderland to prepay our January 2018 tax bill. Many municipalities did allow residents to prepay but Lynne’s what office did was exceptional.

On very short notice, they prepared bills and made them available online. They came to work extra early and stayed late just so we could have this opportunity to prepay.

Many municipalities allowed residents to mail in their payments but Lynne’s staff greeted us in person both quickly and efficiently with a smile. Often, we do not get a chance to see the extra effort made by our local government but anybody who got a chance to see what great work they did is undoubtedly as grateful as we are.

Kudos to the town for all that you did because of “how you did your job.” By putting the residents first, it added considerably more work to your days and nights and we are very grateful for all your team did Lynne.
